Satterlee U.S.A. General Hospital

The Satterlee General Hospital was the largest military hospital during the Civil War. But even at that, it was not enough to accommodate the numbers wounded in nearby battles. As seen in this image, tents were added to provide room to care for the additional soldiers needing medical attention.
